Hey I saw the video of Steve Dymszo and I know the deviation between a screen accurate paint chore and a studio accurate paint task. For example, the Enterprise D hull plating from Star Trek looks similar a light greyness colour on screen. But in reality the model is painted duck egg blue. If you paint your that way, it volition arm-twist strange reaction from people asking, why did you paint information technology lite blue when it is grayness?

So, that said, the studio paint job for the Falcon looks to me like a pizza! I want mine, when I complete it, to wait like it looks on screen. Are at that place any guides for this? I tried searching the posts, but could not find a simple paint scheme.

Thanks!

Hi Michael,

For the studio, information technology'due south all about lighting, as colours look dissimilar under their intense lighting. I am also building the R2-D2 and although I did some research on the paint they used, R2 white was more than cream and as mine is not in the studio, I settled with bright satin white.
Getting on to the Millennium Falcon, once again I wanted the colour to be equally almost to the movie as possible. Here is a link to my custom build below

http://forum.model-space.co.uk/....aspx?g=topics&f=315

If you await at page 4 of the custom build, yous will see I have posted a painting guide.

It is all personal preference when painting a model of this calabre, no wrongs or rights. It is how you want it to turn out and something you volition be happy with.

Information technology would be great to see how you tackle this and delight post your work, I'm certain in that location volition be plenty of people on here that would follow you through to the end.

Although I am the United states of america forum back up here, I'm sure there will exist many others willing to help yous.

If y'all need any other advise, let me know and good luck.

Thank you lot Mark! BTW I had to re register as Sysyphus as I missed the fact that e-mail's are not immune every bit usernames!
I just got the post that the beginning 2 months of the kit will arrive in the next few weeks, so I will not accept anything to pigment until I become it all, I purchased the 12 month subscription pick.

I volition take a look at your guides and I am glad you did this as similar I said, the studio colour scheme is only besides severe for the obvious reason as colors do get far more than muted when filmed. I saw a video of Armin Shimerman in his Star Trek DS9 Quark makeup, and it looked really cartoony! I have likewise worked with Max, the actor who plays Nog on DS9, during Star Expedition conventions, and they had to do a different color scheme for his makeup then it would await similar the screen version in existent life.

Cheers over again and when I am gear up to tackle the paint job, I volition certainly ask for help :-)

Hi Gray,

The mains adapter can exist sourced from Amazon. That said, the very offset time I plugged mine in at Celebrations in Orlando, it blew the motherboard. I ran it hard for the first three.75 days of the evidence though, simply using rechargeable li-ion batteries.

For paints, look at Annal-X paints. He'south based up in Birmingham I believe. (Up thataway at any rate) The paints are matched to the original Floquil colors, and spray beautifully. They run about £8 a jar.

I'd go that route for my paints.

Thank you!
